On GW consensus yet again

Dr. Tim Ball and Tom Harris add to the doubts of anthropogenic global warming because of new NASA climate pronouncements. But the hypocrisy and dishonesty continue . . .

Imagine basing a country’s energy and economic policy on an incomplete, unproven theory — a theory based entirely on computer models in which one minor variable is considered the sole driver for the entire global climate system.

This is precisely what former Vice President Al Gore, Senate Environment Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer and others want their nation to do.

Read on.

Update: Noel Sheppard, economist, questions Hansen also. He isn't talking as a climatologist, but his point makes perfect sense.

Quoted from

http://www.desmogblog.com/tim-ball-vs-dan-johnson-update-0

The Defendants [Calgary Herald] state that the Plaintiff [Tim Ball] never held a reputation in the scientific community as a noted climatologist and authority on global warming. The particulars of the Plaintiff’s reputation are as follows:

a) The Plaintiff has never published any research in any peer-reviewed scientific journal which addressed the topic of human contributions to greenhouse gass and global emissions;

b) The Plaintiff has published no papers on climatology in academically recognized peer-reviewed scientific journals since his retirement as a Professor in 1996.

c) The Plantiff’s credentials and credibility as an expert on the issue of global warming have been repeatedly disparaged in the media; and

d) The Plaintiff is viewed as a paid promoter of the agenda of the oil and gas industry rather than as a practicing scientist.

You are correct. And he dropped his case against Johnson. A small dent to his cause.
Funny though that these "particulars" can be said also of GWA poster boy Al Gore, except for #4. He funds his projects through carbon offsets paid to a company he owns, among others.
