The European Commission has been very aggressive in legislating carbon taxes on European industries and even suggesting that trade partners of the EU go into carbon trade agreements with EU countries to balance the playing field, so to speak. This is one sure way of going back to Medieval Europe, without the industries that have made Europe what it is today.
